Daniel G. Ciaburri, M.D., is a noted cardiothoracic surgeon who recently joined the Ingalls medical staff.* He performs open-heart, thoracic and vascular surgery and works closely with Valluvan Jeevanandam, M.D., chief of cardiac and thoracic surgery for UChicago Medicine.

A highly accomplished surgeon, Dr. Ciaburri has expertise in traditional open-heart surgery, valve replacement, thoracic surgery, aneurysm and dissection repair, treatment of arrhythmia and coronary artery disease.

Dr. Ciaburri uses the latest technologies, including mechanical circulatory support and minimally invasive surgery, to create optimal patient outcomes. 

Additionally, he leads the cardiothoracic surgery clinic now open on a full-time basis in the professional office building. The clinic’s team will offer treatments for a variety of conditions, including heart valve disease, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias and heart failure.

Dr. Ciaburri earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut and performed his surgery internship and residency, as well as his thoracic surgery residency, at Cornell University in New York, NY. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
