Ingalls Memorial Hospital was founded as a result of philanthropic efforts of the Frederick Ingalls in memory of his wife. He established this nearly 100 year old organization to meet the healthcare needs of his employees and the residents of the southland region.

In keeping with the philanthropy started by Mr. Ingalls so many years ago, Ingalls Development Foundation is pleased to institute the Ingalls Community Impact Fund Grant Program.

This exciting opportunity for community non-profits to apply directly to the Ingalls Development Foundation for impact grant funding is another example how the recently completed merger between UChicago Medicine and the Ingalls Health System directly benefits our community.

Not only will our patients benefit through increased clinical services and quality of care inside our Ingalls facilities, but the community will also benefit through an investment in philanthropy. The Ingalls Development Foundation has set aside funding to award impact grants to community non-profits that submit programs for funding that advance the mission of Ingalls to improve the health of the communities we serve.

To fulfill our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve by awarding impact grants to hospital based or community programs that respond to identified community needs in alignment with Ingalls Memorial Hospital strategic plan.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Designated 501 c 3 non-profit organizations located within the Ingalls Service Area
  • Ingalls Hospital
  • Programs aligned with identified community health need as outlined in Ingalls Community Health Needs Assessment
    • 2018 identified need: Access to Care
  • Programs that are measurable

Who is eligible to apply?

  • 501 c 3 non-profit organizations are eligible to apply for an Ingalls Community Impact Grant

How will I know if my organization qualifies for funding?

  • Any 501 c 3 organization is eligible to submit a Letter of Inquiry beginning in November. Programs that meet the funding criteria will be invited to submit a formal application in December. Grant applications will be reviewed and funds awarded consistent with the published timeline.

Are there any restrictions on the amount of each grant?

  • No minimum or maximum grant award funding level has been established. Funding decisions will be based on the evaluation criteria.
