About this Physician
Dr. Chavin enjoys all urological fields—including male infertility, female urology, and the latest DaVinci robotic surgical procedures — particularly prostastectomy, partial nephrectomy, nephro-ureterectomy, sacrocolpopexy and reconstruction.
Dr. Chavin earned his bachelor of science degree in molecular, cellular and developmental biology at Yale University, and received his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He completed his internship and urology residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, in 2010.
Dr. Chavin has co-authored several articles,including “Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopy or the Excision of a Pelvic Leiomyosarcoma” in the online
Journal of Robotic Surgery; and “Maintaining Proper Fluid Balance in the Postoperative Urologic Patient” in Contemporary Urology.
Dr. Chavin most recently practiced urology in northwest Indiana. He believes in putting the patient first and emphasizes education and open communication between doctor and patient as the approach to successful treatment.
