Available at the Center for Rehabilitative Medicine
We offer a full range of therapeutic services in the Ingalls Center for Rehabilitative Medicine. We measure the patient's functional improvement in activities like walking and bathing, from the time the patient arrives until discharge. Overall, the time it takes our patients to achieve their goals continues to decrease. Areas of therapy include occupational, physical, speech and recreational.
Your care team
Each patient's care team meets weekly and before discharge to discuss the patient's goals, treatment plan and progress to date. In addition to occupational, physical, speech and recreational therapists, team members could include physiatrists who specialize in the treatment of joints and muscles, nurses and neuropsychologists. Classes and events
The goal of the program is to ensure safe driving by helping clients modify their driving habits to enable them to continue to get where they need to go safely. The occupational therapists may recommend adaptive equipment or driving strategies that improve driving abilities.
Low Vision Program
This service is offered by a low vision optometrist and Ingalls Occupational Therapy department. The goal of the program is to maximize a client's remaining vision to facilitate safe and independent performance of everyday tasks in one's environment.
