Intermittent Care brings the best possible care to your home, whether you're coping with an illness, need help after hospitalization, or find it difficult to leave home on your own.
Visits are scheduled according to need, may range from daily to once a month and typically last about one hour or less. A team of prosessionals includes adult or pediatric nurses, mental health nurses, social worker, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, nutrition counselors.

Cardiac Care
Comprehensive care is available for patients recovering from heart bypass surgery, valve surgery or heart attack, or for patients with congestive heart failure. After-care and education for both patients and caregivers are key components of our in-home cardiac care.

Diabetic Education
Thorough education is provided to patients and caregivers following a diagnosis of diabetes. Educational topics include foot care, diet, how to give insulin injections and how to monitor blood sugar to maintain good health.

Infusion Therapy
Patients who need IV antibiotics, pain management and other complex infusion therapies no longer require inpatient care when they are otherwise stable. Ingalls offers the option of home infusion therapy. Services are coordinated and delivered by Ingalls Home Care RNs specializing in all types of infusions. Infusion therapy provides a broad range of intravenous (IV) medications, including antibiotics, anti-nausea medication, hydration, pain management, total parenteral nutrition and central line maintenance. Lymphedema Therapy
Lymphedema occurs most commonly in women who have had breast surgery with removal of lymph nodes, followed by radiation therapy. It is also caused by interruption of normal lymphatic flow due to surgery, infection or trauma. Lymphedema can appear weeks, months or even years after the initial surgery. It may also occur following injury or infection. In each case, normal drainage of the lymphatic fluid is interrupted. Although there are cases when lymphedema has spontaneously resolved and never recurred, for most patients it is a chronic problem requiring an ongoing effort to control. A treatment plan is based on evaluation by one of our specially trained therapists and may include one or more of the following elements:
• Skin care
• Massage
• Exercise
• Bandaging
• Compression Garments
• Medicine

Mother/Baby Visits
The birth of a new baby is a joyous time, but if a difficult delivery was involved, or if baby has some special health concerns, home care visits are available if ordered by a patient’s physician. Care is available for low-birth-weight infants, as well as infants who have feeding difficulties or who fail to thrive. Home care is also available for mothers who experienced complicated deliveries.

Pediatric Care
A full range of pediatric home care services are available. Services are directed by the child's pediatrician and carefully integrated into a plan based on the specific needs and health issues of the child.

Pre- and Post-Surgical Care
Education and care are available for patients and caregivers before and after major joint replacement surgeries, including hip and knee. If needed, physical therapy, occupational therapy and gait re-training services are available to help the patient recover safely and comfortably.

Specialized Wound Care and Ostomy
Wounds can cause a considerable amount of pain, suffering, loss of function, as well as change in body image. Ingalls wound care team is dedicated to restoring and maintaining each patient’s opportunity to heal inside and out.
The wound care team consists of an RN-certified wound specialist who coordinates a team of nurses well trained in current wound and ostomy care therapies. This enables patients to receive education on the healing process, nutrition, hydration, medications and more.
Wound care involves skin and wound assessment; prevention of skin breakdown; reduction of shear and friction; application of barriers; management of surgical wounds, chronic wounds, pressure ulcers, venous stasis ulcers and diabetic foot wounds; pre- and post-graft applications; and fistula management. Consultations and referrals are available to advanced wound centers.

On Call Medical Solutions, an affiliate of Ingalls Home Care, offers three kinds of service:
Facility Staffing
We provide qualified, competent RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to fill shift assignments in hospitals, skilled long–termcare facilities, and retirement villages, to cover vacations, sick leaves, or other staffing shortages. Our staff holds the skill levels necessary to deliver quality care to such specialty areas as:
• Ventilator Care
• Tracheostomy Care
• Telemetry
• Medical Surgical
• Critical Care

Private Duty Care
Provides private duty services for people who need long-term medical or other assistance in the home such as: post surgery, after the birth of a baby, during chronic illness, or to help the elderly or medically fragile. All services are offered for approximately three hours a day.
These are some of the services offered:
• Homemakers - to help with homemaker chores such as
cooking, laundry and grocery shopping
• Sitters - to stay with someone who should not be left alone
• Nurses and nurses aids - to help in areas that require medical
assistance such as medications and ventilators
• Home Health aids - to assist with personal care such as
bathing and dressing
If you or your family are unsure of what level of care is needed, one of our professionally trained, certified case managers will conduct a complete personal assessment. The case manager will then develop a comprehensive care plan considering the individual's and/or family’s wishes and resources.
