Rehabilitative Medicine

Neurological
At Ingalls, our neurological program emphasizes improving functional activities such as mobility skills and activities of daily living. Because of the many types of neurological diseases and their varying effects on the patient, each patient's treatment plan is tailored to his/her specific rehabilitation needs. Throughout the rehabilitation process, there is close communication with the patient's personal physician, neurologist and care coordinator to optimize coordination of the patient's treatment plan.

A physical medicine and rehabilitation physician sees our patients daily.

Neurological conditions requiring rehabilitation include:
• Parkinsonism
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Guillain-Barre Syndrome
• Polyneuropathy
• Developmental/congenital disabilities
• Neuromuscular disorders (motor neuron disease, myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophies and other myopathies)
• Abnormal movement disorders
• Spinocerebellar disease
• Disorders of the autonomic nervous system
