Nursing
At Ingalls, we understand nurses. Because we're nurses too. So we've designed competitive incentives and programs to hire and keep the best RNs around. Whether you're a recent graduate or a seasoned RN, Ingalls offers many benefits and opportunities to advance your education and career, including:
- Low patient-to-nurse ratios;
- Competitive pay and benefits;
- Flexible self-scheduling;
- A cooperative, team approach to patient care;
- Fee reimbursement for certification and continuing education;
- Student loan repayment options.
For Newly Degreed Nurses
Making the transition from nursing student to confident, experienced RN is the focus of the Nurse Residency Program at Ingalls. The program is offered twice a year and consists of 48 hours of classroom time and about 480 hours working with RNs who provide real world experience to help you make clinical care decisions when you need to.
Any licensed registered nurse or future ADN or BSN graduate from an accredited school of nursing who has immediate plans to complete state boards is eligible to apply. Candidates must have a current Illinois State RN license by the start date.
Ingalls frequently hires recent nursing graduates and actively recruits from nearby colleges, including: St. Xavier University; Joliet Junior College; South Suburban College; and Purdue University.
For Experienced Nurses
We're also interested in established nurses looking for a change. Many of our long-term nurses say their decision to stay is based on our friendly work environment and the administration's commitment to career growth. Plus, Ingalls is an ideal location for working mothers because it's close to major expressways, downtown Chicago and affordable communities in the southern and western suburbs and northwest Indiana.
