Ingalls Spine Center

Renowned spine experts right in the neighborhood

At the Ingalls Spine Center, you’ll find a group of nationally renowned experts – orthopedic spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, nurses, physiatrists and pain management specialists – dedicated to treating only spine disorders. In fact, we do more procedures of the neck, spine, discs, vertebrae, nerves and spinal cord than any other hospital in Chicago's South Suburbs.

The Ingalls Spine Center is a place where experts share ideas and work together to provide you with the best possible treatment, and where doctors and nurses emphasize your health, well-being and outcome. This comprehensive approach means you can expect leading-edge treatment and better results. At Ingalls, you have access to the same advanced spine procedures that typically are found only at university hospitals and research centers – close to home.

Whether you’re staying in one of our comfortable, private patient rooms, or an outpatient, you’ll receive the care of a team of specialized nurses, health professionals and management dedicated completely to spine care. We’ll walk you through each step of the process, from surgery or outpatient care through pain management, physical therapy, rehabilitation and care in your home. We even offer complementary medicine services like acupuncture, massage therapy and reflexology to help you get moving again.

Ingalls Spine Center team specializes in:

  • Conservative treatment techniques. Whenever possible, our anesthesiologists and physiatrists rely on the most progressive non-invasive and minimally invasive approaches available today to relieve back and neck pain, including physical therapy, medications and injections.
  • Surgical treatment options. You’ll be glad to know that Ingalls Spine Center offers the most advanced surgical treatments available for a full range of spine disorders including degenerative conditions, spinal cord tumors, osteoporosis, and back and neck pain. Minimally invasive techniques like the X-stop procedure, lumbar fusion and vertebroplasty reduce risks associated with treatment and eliminate painful symptoms. What’s more, microsurgery and complex surgery procedures are offered right here so you don’t have to travel far from home.
  • Dedicated pain management specialists. Our continuum of therapies includes epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, implantable devices and more, until your desired result is attained.
  • Comprehensive physical therapy. You have convenient access to outpatient physical therapy at the Ingalls Family Care Centers in Flossmoor and Tinley Park; Ingalls Center for Outpatient Rehabilitation (ICOR) in Calumet City; and even in your own home. You also have access to other conservative treatment options like injection therapies, behavioral medicine and percutaneous neuromodulation therapy, which delivers electrical stimulation directly to the deep tissues near the spine, reaching the nerve pathways to reduce or eliminate your pain.
